Boudoir Bar started as The East End Ensemble, a performing arts studio which began at 228 Livingston Street in 1999. In the five years since we have been opened, many changes have taken place. That which doesn’t change and grow becomes stagnant and dead. We are proud that Boudoir Bar has become what we have always wished. Boudoir Bar is the only bar of its kind. It is a wine bar which serves a variety of excellent wines by the glass; it is a place of expression, elegance and glamour without attitude. Most of all it is a unique experience where many surprises exist.

For instance we serve wine flights. This enables a person to taste several different wines for one price. I experienced this in the 1980’s at a place which was called “The Soho Kitchen”. We are a little more laid back than they were and you can “travel” all over the world in your tasting and not be limited to a specific country or region. We serve 15 different wines by the glass, eclectic and domestic beers, Fizzy Lizzy’s ( a combination of fresh juice and sparkling water), good ole American sodas,seltzer, bottled water, Champagne and more…Our Garden is one of the most beautiful in the neighborhood.

We do not have food but we encourage you to peruse our menus from local eateries and order in. We support our neighbors and want you to taste their delicacies while drinking our fabulous libations. Our decor is that of a 1930’s movie set and all of our bartenders wear vintage lingerie, kimonos and pajamas.

Anyone brave enough to come in wearing lingerie gets a free drink, no questions asked. We are available for private parties and are still #1 at serving up some of the best live entertainment in New York, from Comedy to Burlesque and beyond.
